Creating stability through change
Providing education to help you understand and rid yourself of joint pain and take back control of your life.
A Different Approach to Joint Pain
At AlloVitae we have a vision to help those dealing with chronic joint pain change their lives through movement. Our mission is to provide access to education and safe, effective, movement-based joint pain management techniques through simple strategies based on the foundation of Mobility, Strength, and Coordination.
With back pain, knee pain, hip pain, and shoulder pain being the main complaints of chronic joint pain today, our goal is to provide strategies that can be done by anyone, anywhere, forever, that work. Because the sources of joint pain can be so complex these strategies are meant to be one factor in helping you get pain free and to work alongside other strategies or professionals you may be working with.
What is Chronic Joint Pain?
Chronic joint pain refers to discomfort or pain in the joints that persists for a long period of time. This kind of pain can vary in intensity and can be caused by a number of conditions. Chronic joint pain can be continuous or intermittent and can worsen with activity or certain movements.

While most people associate joint pain with getting older and accept it as part of the aging process, the reality is that anyone, even professional athletes, can get chronic joint pain. Because the pain can come from many different sources it can be hard to pinpoint the reason or cause of the ongoing pain.

Throughout our daily lives, our jobs, and our workouts we could be creating and exacerbating the joint pain through factors like poor posture, repetitive movements, inactivity, or weight gain which can all take a toll on the joints over time.
Our Core Foundation
1
Strength
Strength refers to your ability to produce and reduce force. There are many different kinds of strength, and it is a skill that can be improved over time no matter your age.
Low levels of strength will lead to poor joint and general stability, excessive loads placed on structural tissues, and lower levels of movement variability due to weakness.
Every AlloVitae program is built on the foundation of progressing your strength across all different strength skills to develop force and while diminishing pain.
2
Mobility
Mobility is essentially the ranges of motion that you have access to. Mobility is a combination of the flexibility of your tissues as well as your overall body structure, and is unique to each individual.
Poor mobility will limit your range of motion which will restrict surrounding tissues and make them both tight and weak, increase the stress focal points due to reduced distribution of force, and cause imbalances across joints.
At AlloVitae, our programs include mobility work that respects painful joints and different body types to both alleviate pain and improve access to beneficial ranges of motion.
3
Coordination
In the most basic terms, coordination is how well the pieces of your body work together. More specifically, it addresses your ability to control your movements.
Poor control of movement will produce inefficient movement patterns, poor muscle function, and a general lack of body awareness and balance - all of which will lead to increased joint stress over time.
We incorporate elements of coordination into every AlloVitae program to improve your control, balance, and movement quality to teach your body and brain to move beyond pain.
While movement is a necessary component of healthy living, moving right is the key to alleviating joint pain. This applies to global body movements like walking and running, as well as to the simple, individual movements of each joint and muscle.
With pain present, going from simply moving to moving right is governed by three foundational principles, which we term the AlloVitae functional trinity: Coordination, Strength, and Mobility. Each is important on it’s own, but it is their interplay that creates harmony of the system and will reduce or even eliminate your joint pain.
